On July 23, 2025, our Partner and Co-Head of the Projects and Energy Practice, Chai Lertvittayachaikul, was invited to speak at the Seminar and Networking Evening organized by the Malaysian-Thai Chamber of Commerce (MTCC).
The seminar, titled “Going Legit: How to Form a Fully Foreign-Owned Company in Thailand,” brought together experts to discuss the legal landscape surrounding foreign investment and business registration in Thailand. Chai was joined by Korapat Sukhummek, associate of Kudun and Partners and key representatives from the Department of Business Development (DBD), Ministry of Commerce — including Mr. Parkpoom Ongsantativanich, Commercial Officer, Business Registration Bureau, and Mr. Nopkasem Jotidilok, Acting Senior Expert Commercial Officer, Bureau of Foreign Business Administration.
Together, they delivered a comprehensive overview of the regulatory framework and practical considerations for registering a business with majority foreign ownership in Thailand. With heightened regulatory scrutiny on nominee structures in Thailand, the session highlighted critical compliance issues, strategic pathways, and potential challenges foreign investors should be aware of.
The event welcomed over 50 participants, including entrepreneurs, legal professionals, and foreign investors interested in doing business in Thailand.
We extend our sincere thanks to MTCC for hosting such a meaningful event. It was a great opportunity to exchange knowledge, clarify regulatory procedures, and connect with professionals and businesses interested in investing in Thailand.
